THE LONELINESS ANTHOLOGY is an ensemble character piece about solitude and despair, and the redemptive power of family. When we are alone, we’re never truly alone: we argue with dead husbands and yearn for first girlfriends. We live surrounded by our ghosts and hopes, uneasy and anxious about the task ahead. The Loneliness Anthology places the viewer with people in their solitude and then with their lovers, family and friends as they struggle to reach across the chasm. Like watching a lover unaware of your gaze, or your child at play, a person absorbed in their inner life is soft and pure and sad. We may never feel as tenderly towards another person as when we see them in their solitude.
